Release Notes
PERCEPT Body Camera
15.7.95.2
- Seamless Continuous Recording: Recording is now fully continuous, producing clean, gap-free clips with precise transitions between files.
- Improved Docking Stability: The camera remains stable and fully operational when docked for extended periods.
- Clear Calibration Prompts: When the 9-axis motion sensor requires recalibration, a clear and persistent notification is displayed on the OLED screen until the calibration process is completed.
- Controlled Live Streaming: Live media streaming now strictly follows the "Allow Live Media Streaming When Docked" setting, ensuring it only activates when explicitly enabled.
- Reliable Bluetooth Pairing: The device exits pairing mode automatically if Bluetooth is turned off during a Yardarm pairing process, allowing users to quickly restart pairing.
- Smarter Transport Mode: Transport mode now operates based on battery voltage, with clearer startup feedback and a simpler way to exit the mode.
- Simplified Configuration Options: The Orientation Enabled option has been removed.
- Enforced Silent Mode: When Silent Mode is configured via the QR Code Generator, the setting is enforced on the device, preventing local changes and ensuring consistent behavior.
- Yardarm Integration Enabled: Yardarm devices are now supported on the PERCEPT Body Camera.
15.7.60.0
- Consistent Power State in Docking: The camera now retains its current power state when placed in the charging dock:
- Haptic Feedback for Recording Stop: Haptic feedback is now provided when the Main Button is pressed for more than 3 seconds to stop recording, along with an OLED indication that recording has stopped.
- CameraID Alignment with Device Name: The CameraID in metadata files now matches the Device Name in the camera web interface. If the Device Name is blank, the Serial Number is used instead.
- Consistent Serial Number Formatting: Device serial numbers are now displayed exactly as returned by the ION API, including dashes, ensuring consistency across interfaces.
- Streamlined Wearer ID Setup: Devices with "Record Permanently" enabled now allow required setup flows, such as Wi-Fi and wearer ID configuration, to complete before recording begins. QR code mode is accessible during onboarding, and when "Require Wearer's ID" is enabled, devices now prompt for a valid ID before granting access to features, taking priority over auto-start recording.
- Enhanced HTTPS Configuration Persistence: Devices now reliably retain the "HTTPS only" setting across reboots when enabled via the web interface, ensuring consistent secure access and reliable application of PERCEPT Cloud configuration templates.
- Enhanced Certificate Management: Devices now support adding Wi-Fi SSL client certificates without errors, improving compatibility with secure networks.
- Improved QR Code Scanning: QR code scanning on the PERCEPT BC200 is now faster and more reliable.
- Optimized Pre-Recording Behavior: A new configuration option disables pre-recording while devices are docked, reducing thermal overheating and ensuring uninterrupted charging. This setting is enabled by default and persists across reboots.
- Genetec Wearable Camera Manager role: The Genetec Wearable Camera Manager role now operates as expected on the PERCEPT BC200 body camera, supporting JSON configuration imports and video uploads when connected to a docking station.
- OLED Display Enhancements: The device OLED screen now displays estimated SD card recording time based on free space and configured bitrate. Grooming mode status is also clearly indicated.
- Improved Cellular Provisioning: Support has been enhanced for newer SIM profiles with automatic APN selection and seamless compatibility across existing carrier configurations.
15.2.5.4
- Reliable Shutdown Process: The camera correctly shuts down when requested.
15.2.5.2
- Improved Startup Reliability: Devices now start consistently and recover smoothly from unexpected reboots or shutdowns.
- Configurable Battery‑Powered Shutdown Timeout: Designed for installations where the body camera is normally continuously powered, this feature allows the device to initiate a configurable shutdown delay when external power is lost and it switches to battery.
- The delay duration is configurable via the web interface.
- Shutdown is canceled if external power returns before the timer expires.
15.2.4.28
- Enhanced Time Synchronization: Cameras now reliably synchronize to the correct time when the "Automatic date & time" option is enabled.
- Resilient Firmware Updates: The firmware update process has been improved to properly recover from power cycling during updates.
- Optimized Storage Management: When grooming is configured in "Chronological" mode, the system automatically manages storage space to prevent the micro-SD from becoming full during continuous recording.
15.2.4.24
- Enhanced Compatibility with Milestone SmartClient: The playback recording timeline in Milestone SmartClient now reliably displays all edge recordings requested from the PERCEPT Body Camera after docking.
- Improved Synchronization: Edge recordings requested by the Milestone Server are now successfully synced and available for playback within minutes of docking the PERCEPT Body Camera.
15.2.4.22
- Improved Connectivity: Connection between the PERCEPT Body Camera and PERCEPT Cloud remains stable and consistent even under limited bandwidth or after network transitions.
- Enhanced Live Streaming Stability: Real-time streaming from PERCEPT Cloud is now more reliable under limited connectivity or after a network change.
15.2.3.2
- Improved Live Streaming Reliability: Streaming is now supported across a wider range of network configurations, ensuring more consistent connectivity in diverse environments.
15.2.2.10
- Firmware Update Visibility: Added support for near real-time firmware update status in PERCEPT Cloud.
- Enhanced Firmware Update Process: Firmware updates now proceed seamlessly when connected via LTE and the Wi-Fi interface is set as an Access Point, provided the battery level meets the required threshold.
- Improved Compatibility with ONVIF Recording Search: The body camera now complies with the ONVIF Profile G specification, ensuring compatibility with the Recording Search service.
- Improved Recording Integrity: When the "Record Permanently" feature is enabled by an Administrator, recordings remain active and unaffected by Super user actions in the Live Viewer.
15.2.1.4
- New "Disable Shutdown" Option: A "Disable Shutdown" setting has been added to the configuration menu:
- The setting is disabled by default.
- When enabled, the camera cannot be shut down unless the setting is deactivated.
- Overrides and disables the auto shutdown timeout.
- New "Always Record" Option: A "Always Record" setting has been introduced in the configuration menu:
- The setting is disabled by default.
- Recording starts automatically when the device boots and stops when docked in a PERCEPT docking station.
- Recording resumes when undocked.
- Privacy mode takes precedence over this setting and stops recording when activated.
15.2.0.26
